LCIF gives immediate grant of $30,000 to Chilean Earthquake Disaster01 March 2010 Lions Clubs International Foundation has made an immediate award of $10,000 to each of three Lions Clubs in Chile, which includes the city of Conception the hardest hit area in the country.
Lions Celebrate 40 years of Fundraising20 February 2010 Weymouth & Portland Lions Club held their 40th Charter Anniversary and Ladies Night at the Hotel Prince Regent, Weymouth, in celebration of 40 years since the club was first chartered into Lions Clubs International. Over the past 40 years the club has raised something approaching £1 million with their fund raising efforts and most of this money has gone back into the local community helping those in need and local good causes. Major fund raising projects include a Swimarathon, Street Busk, Golf Day, Beach Motocross and the Christmas Day Harbour Swim.
Top Table, Lions and guests. District Governor Judith Goodchild, principal guest, congratulated the Lions on all the good work they had carried out over the past 40 years.
Presidents Award20 February 2010 At the Lions recent 40th Charter Anniversary and Ladies Night, Lion Norman Apps was presented with the Presidents Award by President John Cake.
