We are calling for your support as we urgently need to raise funds to help the victims of the devastating Nepal earthquake which struck on Saturday 25th April. Donations will be used to provide survivors with water filtration units. In areas that are more difficult to reach we will send water purification tablets. Around 100,000 people are homeless so we need to act swiftly - getting the items to the people that need it the most. We appreciate your support!

NEW  “OUT LOUD” FESTIVAL – A Music and Entertainment event organised by the Lions Club of Weymouth & Portland together with the Weymouth BID

The Weymouth BID  are delighted to announce that they will be working with the Lions Club of Weymouth & Portland to promote a weekend of music and entertainment in Weymouth on Saturday, 27th and Sunday 28th June.

This new event financed and supported by the Weymouth BID will be called the “Out Loud Festival”.  The Out Loud Festival will be charity event and will feature many acts from around Weymouth, including bands, choirs, dancers, clowns and many more at locations all around the town centre, including Bond Street, St. Thomas St. and St Mary St.

There will be something for everybody and the intention is that, if successful, it will become an annual Weymouth event that will attract both residents and visitors into the town centre before the peak summer season starts in July.

Lions Club President, Norman Stagles said; “Weymouth & Portland Lions Club currently organise a range of events including the annual Beach Motocross Weekend, the Christmas Day Harbour Swim and an annual free Christmas Show at the Pavilion for senior citizens. We are absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to organise another charity event for the town. With the financial support of the Weymouth BID we have every intention of turning the town into a place of music and fun for a whole weekend, and then make the Out Loud Festival into an annual event. We hope that local entertainers will give up a little of their time to perform and help us to raise some money for good causes while entertaining people in the town centre while they shop”.

Nigel Reed, Manager of Weymouth BID said “The Out Loud Festival will give businesses an opportunity to build promotions and offers around the event to encourage more visitors to spend in the town and enjoy the Festival.  One of the BID’s business objectives is to drive more visitors into the town during the shoulder season months and the Out Loud Festival ticks all the boxes.”

Any bands, acts, performers etc interested in having the opportunity to join in with the fun, for free and participate in this great event should please contact the organisers on, through our facebook page, or phone 07788 792114, giving their contact details and availability between 10am and 4pm on the two days.
